Anti-Racism Training
Addressing racism, discrimination, and bias requires effort from all sectors. Marginalized communities face unique barriers and discrimination often unseen by others. Initiatives like OHRC’s “Call it Out” eCourse and resources provide foundational knowledge on race and human rights protections. Workshops offered by NBDMC offer experiential learning tailored to Northern Ontario, equipping partners with tools to address newcomer retention barriers and foster inclusive spaces.
Persona Doll Project
Utilizing Persona Dolls is an effective method to address discrimination and bias in educational settings. These dolls promote inclusion, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills among young children, empowering educators to tackle inequality issues. Through storytelling and problem-solving activities, children engage with the dolls’ experiences, fostering empathy and understanding.
